Opening Nook the first time
Nook is not notarized by Apple, so macOS blocks the first launch with a message that it cannot verify the app. It is safe to continue if you downloaded Nook from this site:
- Drag Nook from the disk image into your Applications folder and open it once. macOS shows the warning; click Done.
- Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and scroll down to the Security section.
- Click Open Anyway next to the message about Nook, confirm with your password or Touch ID, then click Open.
You only do this once. On older versions of macOS, right-click Nook and choose Open instead.
Premium did not unlock
- Open the menu bar icon, choose Unlock Premium, paste the key exactly as in your email, and press Activate.
- The Mac needs an internet connection the first time.
- If it says the key is already active on the maximum number of Macs, open Premium on one of those Macs and choose Remove license from this Mac.
Move to a new Mac
On the old Mac, remove the license in the Premium window. Install the app on the new Mac and activate the same key. Notes are encrypted with a key that stays on one Mac, so copy important notes out first.
A frame looks plain
If a frame uses a Premium style and Premium is off, it shows a free look. Your choice is kept and returns when you unlock Premium.
Refunds
You can ask for a refund within 14 days. See the terms.
